Prospect Researcher (maternity leave cover)

Charity People are delighted to be working in partnership with Moorfields Eye Charity to recruit a Prospect Research Manager on a 12 Month Maternity Cover. In what could be a career defining role, you will contribute to Moorfields Eye Charity’s growing team by leading the prospect development function.

About the role

You will be responsible for defining, articulating, implementing and delivering the prospect research strategy and, in collaboration with the Head of Philanthropy and Director of Development, create and implement effective systems, processes and management tools to embed new ways of working, ensuring the charity builds and strengthens its prospect pipeline to drive income growth in support of the charity’s strategic priorities. Furthermore, you will line manage a full-time Prospect research officer and part-time Prospect Research Assistant and interns (as required).

About you

We are looking for someone with proven experience of effective management of a prospect research function. You should have detailed knowledge of data protection, GDPR, and relevant fundraising and other legislation. With a strong understanding of CRM databases, you’ll have excellent analytical skills with a proven ability to make decisions and manage risk.

In addition to this, you should have excellent research skills in major gift fundraising research with demonstrable experience in identifying and researching prospects at the six and seven figure level. You’ll be able to work successfully as part of a team and under guidance of your own initiative.

Location: London, City Road EC1 with hybrid working pattern

Salary: £27,108 to £31,892 (pro-rata)

Hours: 22.5 hours per week (flexible)

Benefits: Excellent package including 27 days annual leave + bank holidays (pro rata)

Reports to: Head of fundraising and engagement
