Prospect research assistant

Are you a curious and pro-active and looking for a role in prospect research?

You will play an important part in building philanthropy at Moorfields Eye Charity to help meet the aims of our ambitious five year business plan for growth, including securing philanthropic income for Oriel – our £100m joint fundraising campaign with UCL.. Your work will also support world-leading eye research, and education along with patient care, to provide life-changing eye health for millions of people in the UK and around the world.

About the role

You will join a growing team and contribute to increasing the size and quality of the charity’s prospect pipeline (individuals, trusts and foundations and corporates) by undertaking high quality and insightful research. You will play an important part in building philanthropy and securing income.

You will support the delivery of the prospect research strategy. You will also provide valuable support that will feed into improved systems and processes, enabling the team to pursue efficient ways of working.

About you

You will be curious self-starter with an interest in philanthropy. Your experience may come from an academic research role or a similar role where you have researched philanthropic opportunities in a fundraising environment.

You will be a confident communicator with the ability to absorb and utilise a high volume of information and provide insight that supports the philanthropy team.

Your ability to work collaboratively and undertake thorough research that identifies philanthropic opportunities, will be key to your success in this role.

Location: London, City Road EC1 with hybrid working pattern

Salary: £20,792 to £24,462 pro rata

Hours: 15 hours per week (flexible)

Benefits: Excellent package including 27 days annual leave + bank holidays (pro rata)

Reports to: Prospect research manager
